The Ramses the Great Exhibition: Pharaohs’ Gold Executive Committee and NEON JAPAN Co. will hold a special exhibition at the Ramses Museum at CREVIA BASE Tokyo in front of Toyosu Market in Tokyo from March 8 (Sat) to September 7 (Sun), 2025. Ramses the Great (Ramses II), the “greatest king” in Egyptian history, and 180 Egyptian treasures related to his reign will be on display in a special exhibition at “Ramses Museum at CREVIA BASE Tokyo” in front of Toyosu Market, Tokyo, from September 7 to September 7.

At the press conference held prior to the opening of the exhibition, Shohei Nagata and Shun Matsuo of Chocolate Planet took the stage to discuss the statues on display at the Egyptian museum, which caused a great stir because of their resemblance. They appeared on stage dressed in costumes inspired by the much-discussed statues. When the statues of ancient Egyptians who were talked about for their resemblance were projected on the screen, Mr. Nagata said, “Their faces are quite similar, but their body shapes are also very similar. The shoulders are broad and the body is of medium height.” Matsuo said, “The way their stomachs are covered with flesh is just like each other. When I compare our naked bodies, we really look alike. I can see the resemblance when I compare my naked body with his. When it was explained that the statue that resembles Mr. Nagata is the high priest Raneferu and the statue that resembles Matsuo is the priest Kaapel, Mr. Nagata said, “I am the superior! It could be similar to our actual relationship.” Mr. Matsuo replied, “Raneferu, kaapel sounds good. Maybe I’ll use it as my stage name. He commented with a smile.

In this exhibition, visitors can experience a VR tour of the “Temple of Abu Simbel,” the most famous structure that Ramses the Great was involved in the construction of, and the tomb of Nefertari, Ramses the Great’s wife. When we asked them what they thought of the video, Mr. Nagata replied, “I saw it first, and the CG is really amazing! It is truly an immersive experience. Mr. Matsuo also commented, “It was really amazing. You sit on a moving chair and watch the images, so it is truly an attraction. You can even smell the food during the meal scenes, so you can really enjoy it with all five senses. I can also smell the food, so you can really enjoy it with all five senses,” said Matsuo.

In addition, Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike appeared as a special guest. She gave a congratulatory speech for the opening of this exhibition. During the photo session, he and Chocolate Planet performed the “T Pose” together. The event was a great success.

Finally, when the two visitors saw the coffin of Ramses II, a rare wooden coffin that had been on a world tour outside Egypt for the first time in 47 years, they discovered a “T” on the coffin, which was the centerpiece of this exhibition. Mr. Nagata said, “It is a wooden coffin. If you look closely, you can see a T on the eyebrows and mouth…” and Mr. Matsuo said, “You mean it’s an Egyptian T? Matsuo said, “You mean it’s an Egypt T? Mr. Nagata said, “It may be the oldest T. It may not be an exaggeration to say that this exhibition is a T exhibition! He also shared a typical story of the “TT Brothers.
